ENGAGEMENT

Michael and Rebecca’s Engagement

Back in what seems like a lifetime ago, I knew Rebecca as “Horizon” when she worked at Forest Home’s Indian Village. But since then, her story has taken her all over the world serving the body of Christ as a missionary. She’s pursued her passion for people and spreading the love of Christ and the joy that’s grown from the many years of sowing seeds radiates from her being. When Michael first proposed IN PARIS, she wasted no time in contacting me about some photos of them. And soon enough, we found ourselves sipping hot tea in a coffee shop as the rain fell outside. She excitedly pushed the latest Wedding magazines my way and showed me some ideas she had about colors and dresses and themes. As two newly engaged old friends, we chatted it up about where our stories have taken us since camp, what it’s like being engaged and planning a wedding, and about our new found prince charmings. And as my hands grew warmer and warmer, holding my cup of English Breakfast Tea, my heart was warmed by our sharing of stories.

On the afternoon of the engagement shoot, I walked through Old Town Orange to meet Michael and Rebecca. I noticed a sign on a coffee shop door with a very appropriate theme for their holiday decor… the Gift of sharing stories. There’s a forgotten power in the simple words “me too” that we so often forget to share with others. The trials and triumphs of Michael and Rebecca’s stories make their love so rich. Take a look…
